To fix a puncture on an electric bike you must first assume that if you ride a bike sooner or later you will get a puncture. That’s just the way it is! And since you always have to be prepared, we are going to offer you a few tips to prevent and manage a puncture on an electric bike.
To prevent punctures:
- Mantener las ruedas infladas a la presión correcta, no dejes que se desinflen
- Limpia bien los neumáticos después de una salida
To manage punctures:
If you puncture the front wheel, where there is no motor, it will be necessary to separate the entire tire little by little and remove the inner tube using the lever. Once the tube has been replaced or repaired, put the tire back in place and then put the wheel back on.
If you puncture the wheel with the motor, you have to disconnect the motor cables, loosen and remove nuts,(it is not superfluous to take some detail photos to see how everything is before removing it) and now we will follow the usual steps as in any other bike.
There is a type of GAADi tube that is very practical, since it is not necessary to disassemble the wheel, it is a linear tube: just remove the defective tube from the tire, cut it and then install the new one. Once the tube is pre-inflated, it is easily inserted into the tire. The two ends are joined together and it is ready to be inflated for many more kilometers.
Keep tires inflated to the correct pressure, don’t let them go flat.
Do’s and don’ts:
- No usar lavados de alta presión.
- No sumerja las piezas.
- Usar agua jabonosa caliente y enjuagar antes de frotar.
- No olvide volver a lubricar después de limpiar.
